Yay!
As I was vacumming the rugs of my new place with my shiney new vacuum, I realized that there was plenty o' space in my bedroom for a sewing area. I can't wait to start sewing again. I'll finish that berry linen kirtle and then finish my Helena of Snakenborg dress (and plug away at the embroidered partlet + sleeves. I have a teal noble I want to start plus I have wool for two pretty middle class gowns. I have my new corset cut out and ready to start being quilted, plus an ass load of reed to bone it with. I might jump on Ye Olde Bandwagon and make a corded petticoat. I *still* wanna research why all of Alcega's kirtles and skirts are 49.5 inches long, not just his farthingale for the "tucks" that Arnold claimed in PoF. Current Mood: creative |

Oh jeebus...I have a lot to transfer off this computer and onto my new one. Must remember to buy blank CDs... |

Dear Assorted Family Members
I'm moving this week into my new apartment. I will not be informing any family members of my new address nor of my new phone number. Please do not call my cell phone, nor email me, nor contact my ex-husband. I have max's mother's contact info and will contact her when I am able to pay my debt which should be at my next school disbursement. We are not a close family so I doubt this will inconvienence anyone. The sole exception will be my mother, who is ill and who I will ask to not pass on any contact info. |

This journal is SCA & Costuming related only
I'm only going to post concerning SCA stuff and me rambling about my sewing adventures here.... My private bitch-about-the-world journal will bere here: loreleis_lairIt's "Friends Only", this journal will be public, if you're interested in the other...then friend me and I'll do the same. I will *not* be hurt if you choose to only friend this public costuming journal and not the the private one. If it were me, I'd probably only read the garb journal, too :) Thanks guys for all the nice stuff you wrote. The little "How to Friend-Only your old entries" thing is down, so I'll be going back by hand and doing it. bleah. |

I was looking at a picture of myself. I have a very large head. I also have Big Hair. It kinda makes my Big Head look even bigger. I have a massive cranium. I need to work out, so I can get ripped and grow into my head. love, Big Head Current Mood: Big Headed |

My new apartment skirts the edge of the woods. The parking lot behind the building ends right into the tree line. My apartment is on the 2nd floor BUT the first floor is partially sunk below ground, so I could jump from my balcony and sustain little injury. Not at ALL zombie-defensible... Current Mood: worried |

My inner child is ten years old!
The adult world is pretty irrelevant to me. Whether I'm off on my bicycle (or pony) exploring, lost in a good book, or giggling with my best friend, I live in a world apart, one full of adventure and wonder and other stuff adults don't understand.

I guess I'm pretty programming ignorant, but i expected Visual Basic to be more...I don't know....code-y, and less...drop-n-drag-y. Oh well, at least it doesn't seem like the class is gonna be hard. Programming looks like lots of fun and I already know a billion little application I wanna make for gaming and costuming and stuff Current Mood: tired |

Arrrrrrr!
only 16 days until Talk LIke A Pirate Day.... Anyway, finally waded through paperwork and discovered WTF is up with Rebecca's school and stuff. Ok, her Eval is friday at 9:30, and even though school starts today (pre-school...that is) she can't start until after her eval. This works out ok, if I can get her out of the afternoon class and into the morning class. Alex starts school on Friday, too...Kindergarten. Woo! I can't wait to be able to start SCA stuff again...Mike having the kids every other weekend is gonna work out fyne. I wanna get into period cooking again. And I think I'll be able to actually finish a project, sewing wise. Yay me. Off to call school and whine about my financial aid. |

Ugh
Angela's on her way over to hang out. She's bringing Cowboy Beebop and were gonna watch LOTR TT. and then she's gonna show me her Xmen MUX. We game tomorrow...woo! Mike's out on a date, oh he says he's not...suuuuuure, heh :) Yeah, like he's gonna iron a shirt and put on cologne to go hang out with Ron. Go him. Dates sounds like a big ol PITA to me...what I'm doing with Angela sounds like more fun. Hanging out, gaming, watching cool stuff. I made Mike a yahoo thing. I dunno...his picture isn't that great, but he won't stand still for a good one and smile fer crissakes. Current Mood: bored |

Food
Went to Jungle Jims yesterday. Bought Mochi fixin's (and a little pack of 6 mini mochi). Mochi rice flour, and sweet bean paste...yum. I wonder if I could make a veggie version of Keluguen using seiten or something...maybe baked tofu. It's a chamarro dish (Guam) made from sliced meat, raw onion, boonie pepers (you can use vietnemese chili paste), salt and lemon juice. In the original dish you take your meat (usually fish or beef) and slice it very thin and mix it with the onions, the chili, the salt, and the lemon...then you leave it in your fridge all day while the lemon juice "cooks" it. You eat it on hot white rice and cold lettuce. Goes great with lumpia and pancit. Ther's also another great dish that's common in Guam and Hawaii..and I can't remember the name to save my life...but it's stuffed steamed dough ball dumpling things...the dumplings I *think* are made with rice flour (maybe potato flour) and filled with a savory meat stuffing...I could fake that pretty easy with a nonmeat thing. also got: chick pea artichoke salad coconut oil fennel seeds Gluten free dairy free cookies for the kids assorted vegan cheeses. (the Tofutti ones are really good!) soy milk I need a stand mixer for all the wacky gluten free baking I gotta do...the kids hate the rice bread you buy at the store. It tastes like not-sweet banana bread. Gak! I'm making a ham tonight for the kids and their dad, let my little carnivores eat up, heh. I'm making my brown sugar pineapple glaze so I gotta go hit the store. Behold my new baby: http://www.sixteenthcenturystitchery.com/car.html Current Mood: dorky |

Mmm....obscure Japanese Snack foods
I should be reading and writing psuedo code for a fruit theme lotto ticket right now. (don't ask)..but I'm not... cuz I'm a REBEL. BTW, everyone should eat mochi with sweet beans...I mean it. It's a moral imperative. Current Mood: pleased |

Shitty Chair
I have the crappiest made computer chair in computer chair history. I partially blame Mike for his tendancy to lean waaaaaay back in a poor $29 chair. *I*, being a good computer chair sitter, hunch way forward, my back never touching the back rest thing. Well, now my chair is a stool. The back has fallen and it can't get up. The bolt is stripped since it's fallen off about 83465 times now. Dookey. Anyway. If I don't buy discs today, I am dead meat. I don't even own discs anymore since I just burn anything...and since I never really had the need to tote anything around. Weird...3.5 floppy disks are neither floppy nor disk shaped...I think they're floppy and disky inside, but I've never dissected one. CD-Rs are far more disk shaped and slightly floppy, but only if you wave them really hard. I hope they sell 'em at Jungle Jim's, since I'm going there to buy the very elusive Vegan Cheese and GFCF Pizza Crust..we're gaming on Sat. and my children will cause a riot if there's pizza to be had and they are denied. Alex has shown no change at all on his diet. His Goodnights are the same now. I'm thinking of letting him have regular pizza on Sat and see what happens. Rebecca has done great on the diet. But then she's full blown autism and Alex has mild Asperger's. I've not really notice a difference in myself at all, as far as Asperger's. I still perseverate like a mo fo (obessive interest behavior..like my sudden interest in D/s or my interest in a sudden slurry of new things). It sure would be handy if I could program my perserverations...like "Visual Basic" or "Cleaning the house". And I haven't noticed a change in emotional stability. It might be envoirmental, since I'm suffering what every Autistic person's biggest dread... change. Divorce, moving, new school year w/change in major, kid's diet, etc. I have noticed that I feel better off diary, but I might add in a little gluten to see how it goes. Being a vegetarian who can't eat gluten sucks ass, let me tell ya. Current Mood: awake |
